Going Bananas
Alan and I bought a lovely bunch of green bananas a week ago. I’ll repeat. One week ago, Alan and I bought a lovely bunch of green bananas. Now, a week later, our green bananas are STILL green! What is up with that? We enjoy buying unripe bananas so we can eat them at the peak of ripeness when they first turn a delicious golden yellow, with a small amount of green left. Unfortunately, something is very wrong with our bunch of bananas! They are hard as a rock, we can’t peel them and they are…bright green. We never went back to the store this week to buy new ones because we thought they would eventually turn yellow. I am having banana withdrawal. I found some paint color chips to illustrate how green our green bananas are
Something is offbeat with our bananas. This is a progression of a normal banana’s color. (Hope your computer screen can pick up these colors).
Apparently, our mutant bananas don’t follow the rules. Off to the store tomorrow for some new bananas…

Perhaps you could "exchange" the mutant bananas for normal ones. If you wanted them to stay green, then they would have turned yellow with brown spots! Good luck with the banana dilemma!
ReplyDeletewonder how they are on the inside? Or will they never ripen...like the avocados I got from costco that felt fine but were black all around the seed ! You never know do you when things are all wrapped up in their original container !
ReplyDeleteYou should try to return them!!! That would be so funny, and I would love to hear if they actually took them back!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried returning bananas! We got this bunch from Circle K. It's not really worth the weird looks from employees or the 99 cents! :-)
ReplyDeleteI hate that. I, too, buy my banana's early and wait for optimum ripeness. Love the paint chip samples! Take them back!
