This is my first attempt at blogging, and here it goes....I love 100% cotton t-shirts. I have this weird obsession with needing to wear 100% cotton shirts to lounge in. They are a MUST for sleeping in. Synthetic shirts, or cotton blends just don't cut it! I can totally tell the difference between 100% cotton and 90% cotton 10% spandex. Or 50% cotton and 50% polyester! I can feel my body become claustrophobic. I know that must sound strange, but I'm sure there are people out there agreeing with me. I feel like my body cannot breathe!
Now, I do wear synthetic clothing and have no problems with them. Lots of the cutest clothes out there are made of synthetic fibers. However, if I'm relaxing on the couch, snuggling up with my husband with a good book, having a movie fest, or even cleaning the house, I need to have on my 100% cotton shirt!
I have been on a quest to find the perfect shirt. Let me tell you, they are hard to find! I decided that since my closest has been invaded by polyester/cotton blends, I was going to start shopping around. I usually end up shopping at My Husband's Side of the Closet. It's not a fancy store, it's a really nice convience store of sorts, and ladies can usually find a location close by. I have the sweetest husband. He is so patient with my cotton obsession. There have been many a times when I forget to look at the labels of my shirt before I put it on. I get settled on the couch and not even a minutes goes by and I blurt out, "honey, can you check my label? I don't think this shirt is 100% cotton! I feel claustrophobic!" So, Alan does the all important label check, and 99% of the time I somehow end up with a non 100% cotton shirt! I don't know how this always happens! I guess when I put a shirt on, I hope that somehow it will turn into 100% cotton, or the shirt will just decide that it will not make me hot or uncomfortable. But they don't.
I have come to the conclusion that I only have two really wonderful shirts and I can't wash them fast enough! The sad thing is these wonderful shirts were freebies. Yes, I did not pay a dime for them! Somehow I can always turn to my husband's side of the closet and find exactly what I'm looking for! It's like magic. However, I seem to be the one to blame when he can't find a T-shirt to wear. I can't help it if men's shirts are so wonderful. So, my question to all of you: does anyone know where I can find the perfect 100% cotton women's T-shirt? Let me know I am on a quest. I will let you all know if I ever find "The One!"
Polyester/cotton blends have taken over my closet.
